Teacher Introduction

I am Deb Donnay, and I have been teaching at Dover-Eyota Elementary for 33 years.  I enjoy getting to know my students and nurturing their learning experiences.  I aim to create an environment where students love learning.

I was born in Belgrade, MN and grew up in Waconia, MN.  I went to St. Cloud State University and earned my B.A. degree.  I also earned my Masters in Ed. from the University of Minnesota.  When I was in school my dad was a business teacher for Waconia High School.  He now is retired and enjoys golfing and watching sports. My mom was a stay at home mom and then worked for Carver County Health for 15 years.  She is retired and enjoys quilting, golfing, and tending to her flowers.  I grew up with four brothers, and we enjoyed playing sports.

I have been married for twenty-one  years to Gale.  He is retired and enjoying working on projects at home.  We enjoy gardening, walking, golfing, playing cards/board games, cooking, camping, sitting by the fire, tending to our yard and flowers, and spending time with family.  Gale comes from a family of 10 so our get-togethers are fun.   We have 27 nieces and nephews on Gale's side.  On my side of the family there are 10 nieces and nephews.  Eight of them are boys who love sports. They range in ages from 4-13.  It is fun watching them play soccer, flag football, basketball, and golf.   Our get-togethers are very active.  Gale also has two adult children, and we are delighted to be grandparents to eleven grandchildren.  Our grandchildren range in ages from 6-26. We like to play board games, cook and eat together, and enjoy the outdoors.    I am a Viking, Lynx, Gopher, and D-E Eagles' fan.  I like to read books about personal finance.  I enjoy family time.
