Chair Ron Pagel called the regular meeting of the Dover-Eyota Board of Education, District #533, to order at 6:00 PM in the Dover-Eyota High School Media Center. Other Board members present: Tamara DeMuth, Heather Duellman, Sara Halvorson, Riley Hammel, James Johnson, Shawnna Seaquist and Superintendent Jeremy Frie. Absent: none.

 

The Board acted on the following items:

  1. Approved the Agenda; (Johnson, Hammel, unanimous)
  2. Approve the February 13, 2023 Regular Board Meeting Minutes, and the March 6, 2023 Special Board Minutes, March 8, 2023 School Board Mini Retreat Minutes (DeMuth, Seaquist, unanimous)
  3. Approved the Regular District Bills totaling $216,229.01 and the Special District Bills totaling $926,338.08; (Johnson, Seaquist, unanimous)
  4. Approved the Treasurer’s Report with liquid assets totaling $4,585,466.97 and February electronic transfers; (Johnson, Hammel, unanimous)
  5. Recognitions –
    1. Member DeMuth recognized Administrative Assistant, Tara Dabelstein for her years of service and wished her well in her new beginnings.
    2. Activities Director, Tim Andring recognized the six Dover Eyota wrestlers who earned their way to the Minnesota State Wrestling Competition.
    3. Member Seaquist recognized the students and staff for their hard work during the recent Band and Choir concerts.

  5. Approved the Treasurer’s Report with liquid assets totaling $4,749,567.33 and January electronic transfers; (Johnson, Hammel, unanimous)
  6. Recognitions –
    1. High School Principal Sarah Carlson recognized students Zachary Arndt and Kyllee Howlett for working with the administration and Olmsted County Public Health on tobacco education. The effort and extra time they were putting into this was fundamental. They were guiding this effort, working on getting relevant information that will impact students.
    2. Middle School Principal John Ostrowski recognized the Drama Club leaders for their efforts and work leading the Middle School play. He shared that it was a great show and the students did an excellent job.
    3. Elementary Principal Ben Midge recognized the elementary staff along with PATT for the fundraiser that the elementary did. The fundraiser was a great success because of the staff and PATT working hand in hand.
