Farm to School

Here at Dover-Eyota we are proud to say we have been on the leading edge of this trend toward offering local, farm-fresh foods since 2007, starting as many schools small usually with local apples and adding to it every year.

Working with students, teachers and an area apple grower Dover-Eyota Public Schools planted 15 dwarf apple trees of three varieties (SnowSweet, Honeycrisp and Zestar), 5 pear trees and 10 blueberrie bushes hardy to Minnesota. The land is in an open courtyard in the center of the High School protected on three sides by the building, the sightline visible to classrooms.
